The Future Hospital Review Panel has been informed that the debate on the Outline Business Case and Funding Proposals for the Future Hospital will now take place in December as opposed to November. The Panel has been meeting during the last couple of months to discuss progress and continues to monitor the Future Hospital timescale in order that it can begin its work.
To that end, the Panel recently published a series of correspondence to the Chief Minister, the Minister for Health and Social Services and the Minister for Infrastructure and their responses. The Panel wrote to the Ministers primarily to raise concerns over the short timescale to complete its review and the importance of receiving the relevant documentation in advance.
Deputy Simon Brée, Chairman of the Review Panel, said: "As this is the biggest capital project the States has ever undertaken, it is paramount that Scrutiny is afforded sufficient time to undertake a review. The Panel is working to an extremely short timescale of 6 weeks and will only be able to complete its work in this timeframe if it receives the relevant documentation in advance."
